I’m thoroughly delighted to return for my 5th year as instructor for the yearlong online course, Painting with Fire, hosted by Essence of Mulranny Studios on the wild west coast of Ireland! (A.K.A Mecca for wax-media artists)
Each week a new lesson is released, plus extra special features like artist profiles. When you join, you will not only have lifelong access to all the lessons and resources shared throughout the year, you will also become a member of a vibrant community of participating artists and instructors who share and discuss their work while throughout the year while responding to questions about a wide range of issues encaustic artists encounter.
This year, my main lesson is Skygazing: creating a sense of atmosphere with encaustics and oils. I will also offer a demo: Finishing Touches: framing and presenting encaustic works on paper and panel. In addition, my artist profile will explore my journey from theater painting to encaustics and how the experience of working at such a large scale onstage informs all that I do as an encaustic mixed-media painter.
In recognition of the turbulent times in which we live, I have decided to donate 100% of my proceeds from the Painting with Fire tuition to Doctors Without Borders and World Central Kitchen.
